O'Hair makes cut at Houston

Signs are Sean O'Hair is playing his way out of his funk.

O'Hair, 24, from West Chester, who missed five of six cuts at the start of the season, carded rounds of 70-71 at this week's Shell Houston Open. His 3-under total put him tied for 16th after two rounds.

After his lousy start to the year, it's the second cut in a row that O'Hair has made. At the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he finished T-16th and cashed a check for $96,250.

Pine Valley #1 with Golf Digest

While Pine Valley has slipped to No. 2 with Golf Week, it still ranks No. 1 with Golf Digest.

The magazine, out with its rankings of America's 100 Greatest Courses for 2007/2008, continues to rank the ultra-private South Jersey preserve tops. No. 2 is Shinnicock Hills, No. 3 is Augusta National. Merion, site of the 2013 U.S. Open, holds steady at No. 7.

The only other course from the area to make the list is Galloway National, jumping to 74th from 92nd two years ago.
